Frequently asked questions

It all began with a simple idea fueled by a deep passion. As a small business, we pride ourselves on personal attention and dedication to every detail. Our approach is rooted in quality and integrity, ensuring that everything we do reflects our commitment to excellence. This includes making sure we answer any questions or concerns you may have. We will also add to this section any questions clients come up with as we grow. No question is unimportant. Don't hesitate to ask.

Cost or fees

  • Do you charge planning fees?   This company works purely on commission at the moment. We do all the work to get you there and the destination or supplier you choose will then pay out commissions, not the client. It will never be added to your pricing.
  • Can I use a payment plan?   Many suppliers provide payment plans, it will all depend on where and when you are going and with which supplier. But, if you plan a trip ahead you can always check for payment plans or start saving up. There is always a way to make that dream trip happen.
  • Are there cheaper alternatives?  Sometimes there are cheaper alternatives, and we will go for that first, but they may be missing that "Jena se qua" you are looking for. Besides you want it to be safe and relaxing and not stressful as well. But, we will always try to get the cheapest, safest, and best version of what you are dreaming of. Then and only then, if you still feel it's too much, we can try and quote other situations.

Planning and Expertise

  • Do you specialize in this type of trip? We are still adding new types of trips and specializations all the time. Just ask and we will see what we can do.
  • What is included in the package?  This will entirely depend on what you want to do on your trip. Do you want a basic trip with airfaire, hotel, and maybe a meal or two included or a car rental? Or, do you want an All-Inclusive trip from start to finish where you don't need any more money than you've already spent and can dine or drink to your hearts content. It all depends on you and what the destination has in packages.
  • Can you customize my itinerary? Within limits yes. We can add things like excursions, activities, dining, and other things if they are available. We will even search to see if a special thing can be added, but if it isn't there, we can't create it. It's all part of the planning and the earlier we can do that and research for it the better it will be for you. Besides, even if it isn't able to be added to your package we can always research it and help you plan and pay for it on your own.

Domestic Travel Documentation

  • Do I need a REAL ID to fly? Yes. U.S. travelers 18 and older need a REAL ID-compliant driver's license (look for the star in the top right corner), a valid passport, or other federally approved ID to board domestic flights.
  • What happens if my license isn't REAL ID compliant and I don't have a passport? Alternative forms of identification include military IDs, Trusted Traveler Cards (Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI), or Permanent Resident cards will be allowed, but some form of ID will be required to match to your ID without Real ID.
  • Does the name on my ticket have to match my ID? Yes! The name on your airline ticket must exactly match the name on your official government-issued ID or passport. Nicknames or maiden names should not be used unless they are legally on the ID you will be traveling with.

Travel Best Practices

  • Should I make copies of my documents?  Yes! Keep physical photocopies and take digital photos of your passport and visa pages (and leave a copy with us). Store the copies separately from your original documents, and consider leaving a set with a trusted friend or family member at home. That means make copies in triplicate if possible. One for yourselves, one for family, and one for us. This is the best way to protect yourselves especially travelling abroad.
  • What should I do if my passport is lost abroad?  Notify the local police immediately and contact the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate (we will research this ahead of time and provide it to you for emergencies), to obtain an emergency passport. Bringing backup documents—such as a copy of your birth certificate or driver's license and a couple of copies of your photo—will make proving your citizenship much easier at the embassy.
  • Will I need anything special for European travel?  US and Canadian citizens are now required to apply ahead for entry authorization into the UK, and in late 2026 the same will be required for most other European countries. The UK's system (ETA) is separate from rest of the Europe's (ETIAS), but both require only that you fill out a form online and pay a small fee in advance of your trip. For more, see the ETA and ETIAS explainer.
  • What do I need to bring to rent a car or other transportation in Europe?  If you'll be renting a car, be aware that an International Driving Permit is required in Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain, and may be required by individual car-rental companies in other countries ($20 plus tax; get it at AAA before your departure). Even if you aren't renting a car in Europe, bring along your driver's license — it can come in handy if you need to leave a piece of ID to rent a bike or audioguide and you don't want to part with your passport. Such things may also be required in other countries, please check ahead.

Support and Peace of Mind

  • What happens if my plans change?  We will first say, "Let's figure this out". Depending on where in the travel process you are and the policies that suppliers have in place we will look for rebooking options, associated fees, and refund policies based on your package's terms. Things may not always go the way you expect, so be prepared, and we will make every effort to be certain about your package before booking.
  • What can Travel Insurance do for me?  If the ship sails without you or another item you booked doesn't happen because your flight to a departure port was delayed, travel delay benefits can help you catch up. If you break your leg and have to cancel your trip, the cruise line or destination won't reimburse you—but travel insurance can. And if you suffer a medical crisis on board, travel insurance can cover your evacuation and emergency medical care. Travel insurance covers your investment in many ways and is Highly recommended.
  • Can you help me during an emergency?  Yes. There are many things we can assist you with in emergencies. First, we will always advise you to sign up for things like the U.S. Department of State's STEP program (Smart Traveler Enrollment Program) or the SITATA App which both give you current updates and advisories of places around the globe. Next, we have copies of your itinerary and we advise you to leave digital copies of all passports and visas with us for emergencies. You will be given Emergency numbers for Police, Ambulance, and Fire at your location as well as address and phone number to the nearest Embassy location in case you lose your Passport. Last but not limited to, please leave names and phone numbers of a relative so that we can contact them if you cannot.
  • How far into a trip will I be able to contact you for help? You can always contact us for any reason and we will do our best to assist you in any way possible. That's 24/7 access because we care about your safety.

International Travel Documentation

  • What if my passport expires soon? Many international destinations (especially in Europe) require your passport to be valid for at least six months beyond your planned return date. You may also need at least two blank visa pages. The best thing is to make sure it is up to date with as much time left on it as possible and with a few pages left blank. Prepare ahead for International travel.
  • How early should I renew my passport? The U.S. Department of State generally recommends applying for a new passport or renewal at least 6-9 months before your planned trip, as processing times can fluctuate. And you don't want to be caught without it or be delayed anywhere. It's a waste of your time and hard earned money. Be prepared.
  • Do children need their own passports? Yes. All travelers, including infants and young children, must have their own valid passports for international travel. Child passports are typically valid for 5 years. They will have a photo of your child and can easily identify them as your child if Goodness forbid anything happened.
  • Do I need a visa for my destination? Visas depend on your citizenship and the countries you are visiting. Travel agents use resources like IATA Travel Centre or U.S. Passports & International Travel to check up-to-date entry and visa requirements.
  • Does the name on my ticket have to match my ID? Yes! The name on your airline ticket must exactly match the name on your official government-issued ID or passport. Nicknames or maiden names should not be used unless they are legally on the ID you will be traveling with.

Travelling with Minors

  • What documents do I need if I'm traveling with my kids without the other parent?  To prevent child abduction, many international destinations and airlines require a notarized Letter of Consent (or permission letter) signed by the non-traveling parent or legal guardian. It's a good idea to inform the other parent or legal guardian and get a permission letter, even if you aren't travelling internationally. It just covers yourself and keeps children safe.
  • What ID do minors need for domestic flights?  The TSA does not require children under the age of 18 to provide identification when traveling with an adult within the United States. However, bringing a copy of their birth certificate with you when travelling long distances can't hurt. International travel will always require a Passport with a copy of the birth certificate is best.
